Building on the shoulders of giants, we honor the creators of our histories while nurturing the creations of our future
Our Mission
To give teachers and parents (and everyone else) the opportunities and resources to access and gain knowledge in order to live courageously as the giants of today while nurturing the giants of our future
Nori - pronounced Nor-eye - is my family's name. It has been passed through the generations from the Laguna Pueblo Tribe. It belongs to myself and my mother, her mother and her mother's mother. They are the giants on which I build my life. Their lives were not comfortable or wasted, they all busted barriers and thrived through their art and education, renaissance women of their time. My great grandmother, Verna was a teacher, and she started the first by-Native-American-for-Native-American Reservation school. My grandmother, Dolores, lived her life in beauty, in the effervescent world of inspiration. My mother, Jennifer, lives her life voraciously capturing the hows and the tos, amassing a wealth of skills, and sharing her knowledge. These women give us a glimpse into what it means to truly live, and not just exist. We must always strive for more, more connection, more stories, more compassion, more knowledge...
At Nori Society, we strive to explore the universe from as many perspectives as possible. We share and teach and discuss and show and learn. Nori Society was founded to inspire a love of thought and learning, art and science, storytelling and philosophy, building on the shoulders of our Giants and in the hopes of nurturing the Giants on which our descendants shall build. Through regular discussions on creators, works and words, we share our knowledge, and gain a new perspectives.
